Challenge #160 - Pin it, Spin It, Win It!

Hi!  For our challenge this fortnight we are asking you to

PIN IT, SPIN IT, AND WIN IT

For this challenge I'd like you to PIN something (i.e., go to Pinterest - or somewhere you get inspiration) to inspire you, put your SPIN on it, and then share it with us to WIN this prize package!

There's a non-stick craft sheet, blank tags, Tim Holtz rub on words and pics
and lots of Distress Stains as well as Tim Holtz tissue paper
(and you never know, we might throw in goodies for everyone who plays along)
C'mon, you know this is good stuff!

We're also asking you to show that you're an Opus Gluei afficianado by becoming a follower (please note in your blog post with your creation that you are).  We want one of the faithful, even a recently joined faithful to win this fabulous-ness!!!!

A random winner will be drawn from entries received by midnight EST in the U.S. on Saturday, July 13.

So, let's see what our Poobahs were inspired to create!

Rosemary here and I love Pinterest for firing up the mojo!

I used this inspiration  from Eileen's Crafty Zone

and created this

Inspired by her vivid colors, embossing, and metallic piece at the center of the rosette.

From Blogerisms I pinned this canvas

and was inspired to create this art tag with the rainbow, butterfly motif, and word FLY
I liked the idea of all the butterflies in a straight line and then others flying to their own ideas and having sparkles bursting out. Hey, it made sense when I was working on it.  LOL
For more details, please see my personal blog.

Deena Here:

this cute card was copied from my friend Cheryl and her ideas...they are fabulous and we made some as a group....don't ask me how to find it on pinterest cuz I always get lost on that site and can't find my way back to an idea to save my life...good thing my memory is still somewhat good and I can imprint some of those fabulous ideas into my brain!

Electra here.  I try to stay away from Pinterest.  Because I love it.
When I get on Pinterest, I forget to eat, bathe, sleep, you know the deal.  But I visited it for a little while.  Just for Rosemary.  Cus Rosemary is a sweetie (Rosemary here - I appreciate all compliments and heck, if you can waste time for me, I'm all for it - Hail to the Crafty).. Here is my inspiration:

And here it was I was inspired to make:

Chat Noir here....

since Pinterest sends me weekly updates, I have MUCH MORE time (and do I use it wisely? of course not) than when I surfed......... and gazed at images......... and did nothing about it.

Here's my inspiration, and here are the ATCs I made this morning.  I go into a tiny bit more detail on my blog, but I think you get the idea.

Jana here, and I have many things Pinned. Too many to do in this lifetime. And, yet, I still find myself Pinning things. Lots of things. Often. For this challenge I was able to narrow my projects down to just 2 of the gazillion I have Pinned.

First up is this very useful savings bank. Although the inspiration piece is a bit more personalized, I figured that since no one else in my house sews, I am pretty safe in not labeling mine. I have a LOVE of craft/sewing supplies. And this may help me get a few more things. I'll start putting my change in there every Friday.

Here's where it lives. I hope it's bigger on the inside too. LOL

My other project is born of inspiration from a few years ago. Pinned HERE. Mine is a WHOLE lot smaller than the inspiration piece. It is a made of inchies and a leftover kids craft canvas. This 4 inch square canvas was in an art kit for kids. It had a flower outline printed on it and came with 4 colors of paint. Well the paint dried out, and the kids lost interest. I actually rescued this little guy from the charity bin. I painted it blue. And let it dry. Then I lightly rubbed Tim Holtz ink pad over the top and sides to give a bit more character. I picked some of my Summer Time inchies and glued them down. Easy Peasy.

I have this on display on the mantle in the family room next to a hurricane vase of shells.

Challenge #159 - Give Me Wings

The challenge for you this time

is to create using the theme of

WINGS

Angels, fairies, birds, dragonflies, butterflies, the band,
heck, if you have a great chicken wing recipe, that's good too!!!!

Just create with WINGS

Rosemary here and I decided to make ATCs.  I got out watercolor paper and Distress Stains and just had a free for all of color.  Then I splattered water to make a fun effect and scratched some with a fingernail and recolored for an effect.  Basically, I just had some fun playing!  (hope you decide to play with us on this too)  If you would like to know more, please stop by my blog.  My photography will win no awards, they are rather good looking in person but I only have my phone to take a pic by, my camera has taken a vacation.  (SIGH)

Jana here, and I am giving my mouse wings. I had some little butterfly blocks left from a swap I was part of a while back. So I sewed them together...

... and gave my mouse wings.

It works wonderfully. And my mouse is pretty happy too.

*****
Chat Noir here and I made a collection of ATCs because I couldn't quite work out what sort of wings I fancied most.  I took a collection of images from my scrapbooks and these are the result.

Not a lot of detail - seduced by the images again (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) - but lots of fun to put together.  I think I like the dragonfly the best, and it proves that everything you buy (such as the dragonfly punch) will come in handy..........at least once.

Electra  here
I made a tag.  A pointless, what-am-I-going-to-do-with-another-one tag.  And I loved making it.

See, the wings are the thing.
Cus this is a wings challenge.  Simple.
If you come over to my blog, I'll tell you how I made these wings.
Cus I'm like that.
No secrets.
None.  :-)
Deena here:  this is about as clean and simple as you could possibly get for a card - especially one from me, but with all my stuff packed away and time at a premium this is what you get...but I kind of like the way that it turned out....the orange is all sparkly looking in real life so it does have a bit of dimension....but my basement has cabinets ordered and the electricity is now complete...drywall goes up next week and then we are off to the races...hopefully mid-july will bring me back into the real crafting world instead of the stuff I jammed into a box of "what I might need over the next 3 months" - that stuff is never enough!

Challenge #158 - Birthday

Hello!  So our challenge theme for this fortnight is

BIRTHDAYS

Chat Noir here......  June is a big birthday month for me, the first week would be exhausting if everyone had a party on their right day!!  And I'd be so much rounder from all the food and champagne.....  I've made two cards to share - the first is for my sister in law who loves bright colours and just seems to dance through life with a smile.  I tried to use her favourite colours, and even got out the Cuttlebug to cut some flowers.  The poor machine which is so dusty I'm amazed that I remember how to use it.  And the second card is for my friend Wendy who loves orange.  Once again I fell in love with the paper and couldn't cover up any of the shadows so there's just a bit of sparkle and some ribbon.

Electra Here:
I had intended to get a couple of birthday cards done that I need to do for work, but I accidentally sat down at my puter and ended up scrapping some of the pictures from my grandson's 1st birthday party,
The funny ones.,  At least I thought so:

So in the first, I tell the story of my little grandson's escape for the dreaded parachute game!
And in the second, I document who had the most fun the grown-ups
(and I use THAT term loosely)
or the children.
I guess it was a draw.  lol

Rosemary here and June is my birthday month and this is a memorable birthday for me so I looked over on Pinterest and got the idea for this page in my art journal.  Sigh   It doesn't look cool like my inspiration but I tried and I like it enough to share it with you.I drew the squiggly lines and then colored them and then filled them in randomly with information, wishes, things I'm proud of, goals, etc.

Jana here. If you know me, you'll know that it's normal for me to be late to the party. But I'll get there. Just have a drink and relax. Anyhow, I showed up for this one.

I came up with this wonderful little birthday gift idea. I took some terrycloth and some fabric squares (5 inch) and made these fun little washcloths.

These would make a wonderful baby (actual birthday) gift. Or a great gift for teens. Might making a new skin care routine a bit easier to handle with a littl bit of whimsy.

Now it's your turn to show us what you were inspired to create with Chat Noir's BIRTHDAY theme.
